Adding a new venue

Add a venue

Click on “Add venue” from the Dashboard page or from within the Venues page.Alternatively, you can use the Venue Creator to easily find and add a venue.

Add the venue's address

Start by typing the venue name. As soon as you start typing, the autocomplete suggestions will appear with possible location matches. Click on the correct suggestion to prefill the address details like street, city, postal code and country.
The Taxi Butler PORTAL uses latitude and longitude coordindates to precisely find a location. It’s highly recommended to the use autocomplete suggestions mentioned above as the coordinates will be filled out automatically. If you manually enter an address, you’ll need to find the coordinates yourself using a tool like Google Maps.

Add additional venue information

Next, add any additional information like the venue display name and type of venue.
Sometimes, the official venue name might be long or unclear. A display name like “Hilton Hotel” is easier to recognise, avoids confusion, and fits better on the device.
You can also choose to add a extra information for the driver and select a default language for the device.
When choosing “English”, you have the choice to use several variants for the word taxi, such as “taxi”, “car”, “cab” and “chauffeur”.
You must also choose a “max taxi bookings”. This allows you to set a maximum amount of bookings that can be placed simultaneously for devices linked to this venue.

Set up device configurations & options

Now, you must setup configurations & options for the device(s) that you will link to the this venue.

Save the changes

You can now press “Save” to finalise the configuration for this venue. You’ll be prompted to add a device to this venue.

Editing an existing venue

Find the venue

Start by the finding the venue you want to edit. Head over the Venues page and search for the venue using the search bar or find it in the list of venues. Click on the name of the venue you’d like to edit.

Edit and make changes

Click on the “Edit” button at the top right of the page, then make any desired changes.

Save the changes

You can now press “Save” to finalise the changes for this venue.

Using the Venue Creator

The Venue Creator is a simple and intuitive tool for finding, adding and setting up local venues in the PORTAL. You can access the Venue Creator from the Venues page by clicking on the “Venue Creator” button in the top right. You’ll be presented with a search tool on the left and a map on the right.
  1. Use the search tool to find a venue that you already know about or use the venue type filter buttons to view different types of venues directly on the map.
  2. Click on one of the results from the list in the search tool or on one of the yellow markers on the map.
  3. Press on “Add venue” to add this venue to your PORTAL.

Extra information for drivers

You can configure extra information to be sent with the booking to your drivers. Configuring this per venue can be helpful to:
  • Indicate to the driver exactly where to go for the pick-up
  • Notify the driver of something specific for that venue e.g. “Please go to reception”
