How payments work
People inside venues like hotels, can pay for a taxi upfront using payment-enabled Taxi Butler devices. They can use contactless payment methods like card or their phone to pay.

Enter booking information
Any required bookings fields must be entered. “Destination” and “taxi type” are required to estimate the total fare amount and for Taxi Butler PAY to work.The guest can choose to receive their receipt via email.
The fare is estimated
Using the device’s preset pick-up address, the destination and chosen taxi type, the fare amount is estimated using your dispatch system. Any fixed fares, zoning prices, etc. are taken from your dispatch system.
The total amount is calculated
Any service fees that are set will be added to calculate the final “total amount to be paid”.
Terms & conditions and fees are accepted
Any associated terms & conditions and fees must be accepted before proceeding.
Tap to pay
The guest taps their contactless payment method on the NFC reader on the device.
The payment is pre-authorised
At this point, the payment method is pre-authorised and the total fare amount is reserved.
Booking is confirmed
As soon as the payment is pre-authorised, the booking is confirmed and a ticket is printed.The printed ticket will show ‘PAYMENT PRE-AUTHORIZED No payment required in the vehicle” so that passenger knows that no payment is required in the vehicle.
Track the taxi
Guests can scan the QR code on-screen or on the ticket to track their taxi from their mobile phone using the Mobile Booking Tracker. Passenger arrives
As soon as the passenger arrives at their destination, the final amount is captured from the passenger’s bank account. The final amount is adjusted according to the final price provided by the dispatch system.
Receive the payout
You’ll receive a payout for the fare amount within a few business days. Taxi Butler collects the service fee set for this booking.
